Let’s get straight into it…
1. YOGA FOR EMOTIONAL RELEASE
This is the yoga I had no idea I needed. Oh. My Gosh. This practice is so relaxing. I was feeling frazzled and stressed the morning I stumbled upon this video and knew I needed to do yoga, but I really knew I didn’t want intense movement. This practice was like the hug my body craved. Thank you, Nico Marie!
2. YOGA FOR TIGHT HIPS
The name says it all for this one. I thoroughly enjoyed this hip-opening practice and really appreciated that the moves felt somewhat different from what I usually do in my yoga practice. Plus, I’d slept on my hip wrong the night before (here’s looking at you, Mid-thirties) and this really helped to release the tension.
3. YOGA TO SOOTH YOUR SOUL
This practice—not to mention Arianna‘s voice and presence—is super soothing. Holy wow, give your body and mind a treat by starting the day with this one. It wrings you out in the best way, and the extra long Savasana adds a heavenly dessert to this practice. Enjoy.
4. YOGA FOR MONDAY MORNING
Arianna‘s so great I had to share one more. This is a wonderful shorter yoga practice for Monday mornings, or any morning when you need to get in some de-stressing movement but don’t want to worry about not having enough time to relax before doing all the things you need to do. Stress? Buh-bye. (For now anyway.) Oh, and it’s also great for those of us who hunch our backs all day at a computer or on our phones.
5. YOGA TO WASH AWAY THE DAY
This name is very accurate because beforehand I was feeling like I needed an energetic shower, I could feel negativity on my skin. Doing this practice actually made me feel like I took a shower, both physically and energetically. That’s magic. It’s also what I’ve come to expect from Adriene.
6. YOGA FOR OVERALL OPENING
I was feeling very curled-in the day I found this video. It’s perfect for helping with tight hips and releasing hunched shoulders, and overall made me feel like I’d opened myself up through a great workout.
7. YOGA TO PICK UP THE PACE
Don’t let the serene surroundings fool you, the fast pace of this practice makes it quite challenging. Or should I say, just challenging enough to get a fair bit of breathing exercise in with each move. It’ll have you feeling refreshed and stretched in no time.
8. YOGA FOR SORE LEGS
Whether it was from all the activity the day before or sleeping weird, I woke up with sore legs and this practice fixed it! Yoga really is magical. It’s amazing what mere minutes of stretching and breathing, being present, and connecting with our bodies can do.
9. YOGA FOR KNEE PAIN
I don’t know about you, but as a writer I tend to sit still in one position for way too long, often in Lotus position with my laptop on my legs. Then when I finally get up and move my knees scream at me. This practice helps immensely with stiff-knee pain.
10. YOGA WHEN YOU WANT TO LAY LOW
“When you feel good, everything is better.” I wrote that quote down in my notes, I don’t know if she said it or I said it (I assume her because that’d be weird to quote myself and then forget about it) but it’s simply so true. This low-back practice is great if you want to stretch out while lying down and staying low to the ground. It feels like a stretching treat and constructive rest for your body.
